we don't look for heaven

I'm in Louisiana visiting my family. Yesterday, I asked my cousin Sophie to model for me. She's fifteen and she gets smarter and more beautiful every time I see her, which is not often enough. We drove a ways down her road in a golf cart to take some of these, and others were shot outside her house at her pool. I hope you like them!

something in the night

Last Sunday, Rachael and I went to Toronto for what was supposed to be less than 24 hours. Since most of my friends have graduated and moved away from Kingston, I haven't seen several of them in ages, and I really love Toronto, so I was excited to go even for a short period of time. It turned into a longer trip than we'd expected when my friend's car broke down after dropping us off, and we didn't leave the city until Tuesday evening.

While there, I had dinner and lunch with friends, explored stores on Queen Street and at the Eaton Centre, went to the Distillery District and navigated a city that becomes a little more familiar every time I'm there. Hopefully I'll be back soon.

Driving to Toronto Sunday night.

Monday lunch with Maria, who I hadn't seen since April.

After lunch, we headed to the Distillery District.

Riding the streetcar back.

Walking around my friend's neighborhood on Tuesday morning (very briefly, because it was very cold).

Riding the bus back to Kingston on Tuesday evening as it snowed. I listened to Lorde and read the entirety of Megan Abbott's The Fever as the bus moved slowly (like, very slowly; we were two hours late getting back). As we were leaving Toronto, I took some photos.
